Mission Running

Mission running is one of the most basic parts of the game, but sometimes there can be more to it than meets the eye. Here are a few tips.

Skills

Before you even start mission running you need the proper social skills. Otherwise you are going to be spending ages trying to move up in the ranks, wasting valuable effort.  There are many important skills, but as a bare minimum you should get Social and Connections to level 3 so that you can move up the mission ladder and eventually get up to level fours without too much effort.  Negotiation is also VERY important because it improves a good part of your overall income. You should at least start with those, and work from there.

Ship Sizes and Levels

If you are going to solo missions I suggest flying the following for each level.
1-Noob Ship/Frigate
2-Frigate/Cruiser
3-Battle Cruiser/Battleship
4-Battleships

Tanking

Every enemy has a type of damage they do. Bring the right resistances and your mission running life will become much more simple..

Group Tactics

When running missions with more than one person you need to plan accordingly. You can make things much more simple for yourself if you prepare right. Once rats target something they will not stop until their target warps out, kills them, or dies. Because of this, one of the best tactics is to prepare one member of your squad to tank, and send him in first. Everyone else may be fit much more offensively, keeping the possibility of new rats warping in and targetting them in mind. Let the well tanked ship warp in first, and allow all the ships in the mission to target them. Then, send the rest of the fleet in to tear up everything in sight. This allows you to stay in longer without having to retreat, and kill much faster. As the tank don't forget to equip resistances according to the enemy type from above!
